Local woman makes others’ disorganization her business

Eva Loomis, owner of NEST Professional Organizing, wants you to know: She’s passionate about organizing and wants to help others enjoy the benefits of it, too. Based in Vermont’s Upper Valley, NEST serves both situationally and chronically disorganized clients in New Hampshire and Vermont. Project services range from downsizing and simplifying to regrouping after a loved one has passed, preparing for a new addition in the home or a lifestyle transition, and emotional attachment. Eva stresses the importance of “putting tailored systems in place and being mindful of our interactions and relationships to objects, data, and time. Ideally, these should work for us (not the other way around) so we can focus on what’s truly important in our lives.”

Eva works primarily in homes and home offices, but she has recently taken on a volunteer organizing project for Morrisville, Vermont’s non-profit Salvation Farms. In addition to organizing physical spaces, NEST Professional Organizing also offers time and data management services, as well.

Typically, Eva begins with a discussion and consultation to understand the client’s situation, preferences, and routine. From there, she works with the client, helping to establish and teach principles of organizing and tricks of the trade so that the client can gain organizational skills. She is emphatic that organizing is a skill that can be learned. She loves to see the positive impact an organized space or schedule can have on her clients, and especially enjoys the renewed energy, relaxation, and satisfaction that a better functioning space can bring to them.
