Vermont National Country Club PGA Professional staff honored by the New England PGA and the Vermont Chapter of the New England PGA. The Professionals at VNCC have accumulated many awards over the years but this year three PGA Professionals at the same facility have been honored by their fellow PGA Professionals.
NEPGA Golf Professional of the Year
Zack Wyman, PGA General Manager at Vermont National Country Club in South Burlington, VT has been named the recipient of the prestigious 2016 New England PGA Golf Professional of the Year Award. The Golf Professional of the Year Award is the highest honor paid to a PGA Professional within the New England Section PGA. The award is based on overall performance as a golf professional at their facility, level of service at his/her facility, level of service to his/her Section and to the Association, leadership ability, image and ability to inspire fellow professionals and promotion of golf. Zack has served the golf community of Vermont and New England for almost two decades.
VTPGA Horton Smith Award
Brian Gara, PGA Head Golf Professional at Vermont National Country Club in South Burlington, VT has been honored by the Vermont PGA. The Horton Smith Award recognizes the PGA Professional who is the model educator of PGA Golf Professionals. This award is designed to give special recognition to an individual PGA Professional for outstanding and continuing contributions to professional education. Brian currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Vermont PGA.
VTPGA Junior Golf Leader Award
Sean Toof, PGA Assistant Golf Professional at Vermont National Country Club in South Burlington, VT. The Junior Golf Leader award is designed to pay recognition to a PGA golf professional who is a leader in junior golf, reflects the qualities and ideals of those who work with our community’s youth, and provides opportunities and experiences for juniors to learn and play golf. Sean has been an integral part in growing the game of golf among the youth in Chittenden County through the PGA Junior League program .
VTPGA Pro-Am Club Champions
Vermont National Country Club has secured the title of VTPGA Club Champions for the 2016 season. The Club Champions award recognizes the PGA Professional staff and their members for the most team points accumulated during the 2016 VTPGA Pro-Am season. The Vermont Professional Golfers Association was established in 1965. It was incorporated into a Charter Member of the New England Professional Golfers Association in 1982. It functions under the guidelines of the New England PGA. The Vermont Chapter is directed by a five member Executive Committee. The Vermont Chapter stages over 25 events each year. In addition to weekly pro-am events the Chapter hosts the Vermont Professional Stroke Play Championship and the Vermont Professional Match Play Championship. The mission of the Vermont Professional Golfers Association and the New England Professional Golfers Association is to promote the enjoyment and involvement in the game of golf throughout the community.
In so doing, the NEPGA will elevate the standards of the golf Professional's vocation, enhance the economic well-being of the individual member, stimulate interest in the game of golf, and promote the overall vitality of the game.
