Dr James N Weinstein, CEO and President of Dartmouth-Hitchcock, has been named among "110 Physician Leaders to Know" by Becker's Hospital Review. This is the second consecutive year that he has been named to Becker's top physician leaders' list. The annual list features presidents and CEOs of hospitals and health systems who also hold medical degrees and have demonstrated "outstanding leadership and clinical expertise throughout their careers, leading initiatives to improve their individual organizations and the healthcare of the communities they serve."
Weinstein, CEO and President of D-H since 2011, is an internationally renowned orthopaedic spine surgeon who has spent decades studying the US health care system. He is a pioneer in empowering patients and families to be partners with their physicians and in changing and improving care through patient-reported measures. Recently, he shared his analysis of health care and outlined solutions as a co-author of Unraveled: Prescriptions to Repair a Broken Health Care System. Weinstein is a member of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine and chairs the Academy's Committee on Community Based Solutions to Promote Health Equity in the United States.
The Becker's Hospital Review editorial team selected each leader for inclusion based on editorial judgment and discretion, and nominations were considered when making selections for this list.
