VHB has announced that Jordan Duffy, will join its South Burlington, VT office as a Civil Site Designer. Jordan will support the office’s Land Development and Environmental Services teams with site/civil and stormwater design projects as well as permitting. Jordan recently graduated from the University of Vermont with his MS in Civil and Environmental Engineering. For his research project, Jordan looked at sediment and nutrient transport in the Mad River watershed, analyzing land use and sediment geochemistry as well as developing a calibrated HEC-RAS model to evaluate in-stream sediment transport. As part of his undergraduate senior capstone project (also at UVM), Jordan conducted a bridge scour analysis on the historic Quinlan Covered Bridge in Charlotte. During his undergraduate at UVM, Jordan interned with the Natural Resources Conservation Service in Colchester, Vermont, where he surveyed farms enrolled in their conservation programs.
