The Vermont Retail & Grocers Association has awarded $15,000 in scholarships to ten graduating high school seniors. The scholarships, which are in the amount of $1,500 per student, will help with tuition expenses for the 2016-2017 academic year. For over 25 years, the VRGA Scholarship Fund has provided financial assistance for college to members’ employees and/or their children.
“We take great pride in offering these scholarships to help young Vermonters to reach their educational, and eventually, their professional goals,” said VRGA President-Elect Erin Sigrist. “And this educational support is made possible by the generosity of our members.”
Funds are raised through the association’s annual golf tournament and several events at the organization’s annual convention. The scholarship funds are held at the Vermont Community Foundation in Middlebury.
