VHB’s South Burlington, Vermont office has announced that Liz Lawes recently passed her Professional Engineer Exam and has been promoted to project engineer.
Liz, a resident of South Burlington, Vermont received her BS in Civil Engineering from the University of Vermont in 2010 and has over five years of structural engineering and design experience. Liz has provided engineering, design, and management on a variety of structural projects throughout Vermont, New England, and New York including a number of Design-Build bridge replacement projects for the New York State Department of Transportation, the Middlebury Main St/Merchants Row Bridge Project in Middlebury, Vermont and various Accelerated Bridge Construction (ABC) projects for the Agency of Transportation (VTrans) including the Rochester Fast Four Accelerated Bridge Construction Project which received a Vermont American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) Award and a 2015 National Accelerated Bridge Construction Conference Award at the 2015 National Accelerated Bridge Construction Conference in Miami, FL. Additionally, Liz has assisted with task management, plan development, bridge inspection, load ratings, cost estimating, and site-specific traffic control for a variety of structural engineering projects including numerous culverts, membrane replacement projects and ABC and traditional bridge projects. After successfully passing her Professional Engineering Exam Liz was promoted to Project Engineer. In this new role she will responsible for the overall development, design, and task management of various transportation and bridge projects at VHB’s Vermont Office.
