Attorney Andre Bouffard named Fellow of American College of Mortgage Attorneys

Attorney Andre D. Bouffard of the northern New England law firm Downs Rachlin Martin PLLC has been inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Mortgage Attorneys.

The ACMA is the leading organization in the United States, Canada and the Americas for attorneys who have been recognized by their peers as distinguished practitioners in the field of mortgage law and real estate finance. Selection is based upon legal skills, knowledge, experience, professionalism and the attorney’s commitment to giving back to the legal profession and the community.

To be considered for membership, a qualified lawyer must be nominated by an ACMA Fellow and must meet rigorous criteria. Nominees must be licensed to practice in the highest court in their state or province, be a distinguished practitioner in the law relating to real estate mortgage transactions, and distinguish themselves through their bar association activities, lecturing, writing articles, drafting legislation or participating in the legislative process, or writing briefs of significant precedent to mortgage transactions.

Bouffard is one of three Vermont attorneys who are Fellows of the ACMA. Bouffard is a director in DRM’s Litigation Group, focusing on bankruptcy, creditor’s rights and financial services litigation. He represents mortgage lenders in loan workout and restructuring matters, and litigation at the trial and appellate levels.
