Barb Trousdale of Preferred Properties in South Burlington, was named the Vermont Realtors® (VR) 2015 Realtor® of the Year (ROTY). The ROTY Award is the association’s highest honor and recognizes a member for their civic, business and industry-related activities and achievements.
“Barb has served in many leadership capacities at the local and state level,” said Isaac Chavez, CEO for Vermont Realtors®. “She has earned a great deal of respect from her peers for her professionalism, creativity, patience, and for her ability to gather consensus.”
Barb has served as Chair of the Professional Standards Committee for the Northwestern Vermont Board of Realtors® (NVBR) since 2009. In this role, she works to resolve disputes between Realtor® members and the public. She is also an Ombudsman for NVBR and is a trained mediator through the National Association of Realtors®. In addition, she serves on the Vermont Realtors® Board of Directors and on VR’s Finance Committee.
She holds the Accredited Buyer’s Representative designation. She also holds designations as a Seller Representative Specialist and a Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist. Barb is a frequent instructor at first-time homebuyer seminars in Chittenden and Franklin Counties.
Barb is an active member of the Home Builders and Remodelers Association of Northern Vermont, where she serves as a member of their Board of Directors and Finance Committee. She is also actively involved in Business Networking International, Inc. (BNI) and serves as vice-president of the Wealth Builders BNI Chapter.
Barb was honored during the VR Awards and Installation Banquet on Oct. 7 at the Hilton Hotel in Burlington.
