The Lake Champlain Islands Economic Development Corporation Board has announced that it has hired Jan Marinelli a long time business consultant and economic development professional with over 25 years of experience to be the next executive director. Marinelli, a resident of South Hero, has been business development consultant and strategist with her own firm since 2009. She is also a partner in Versante, LLC, an all-natural, Vermont-made bath and body products line.
Her background includes several years with the former Chittenden Bank as the Vice President and Community Services Director, where she led a 52 branch network in community outreach. Prior to that, she was a member of the late US Senator James Jeffords' team, serving as Community and Economic Development Coordinator. She earned a BA at the University of Vermont, and did a four-year law office clerkship. Her community service positions include serving on the United Way of Chittenden County Board as an advisory board member of the Vermont Women's Business Center and as a Therapy Dogs of Vermont team member along with her Black Lab, Tess.
