ECS’ Waterbury office welcomes new employees

Environmental Compliance Services, Inc. (ECS) has welcomed Katrina Joy Mattice, P.E. and Mark Emerson to its Waterbury, VT branch.

Ms. Mattice, a Professional Engineer (PE), joins the firm as a Level II Engineer. She has more than six years of experience in site assessment and remediation, stormwater management, hydrology, environmental compliance and waste management, vapor intrusion, risk assessment and data evaluation quality control and assurance.

Ms. Mattice is responsible for coordinating and implementing all aspects of environmental assessments and remediation projects. This includes performing subsurface evaluations and operation, maintenance and management of contaminant recovery/treatment systems. She will also oversee subsurface investigations and cleanups, along with conducting remedial system installation, operation, and maintenance and management activities. This work will also include Brownfield redevelopment projects.

Ms. Mattice holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Resources and Forest Engineering from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry.

Mark Emerson joins ECS as a full-time Field Technician and a Vermont Asbestos Inspector. He recently completed an internship at the Waterbury, VT office and will now be responsible for conducting field research and support.

As an Asbestos Inspector, he is knowledgeable of regulatory compliance issues, including quality control during media characterization and sampling. Mr. Emerson led numerous facility inspections for hazardous building materials that contained asbestos, lead and PCBs.

Mr. Emerson will also perform site inspections and will oversee and document drilling and construction activities.

Mr. Emerson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science with a Minor in Geology from Lyndon State College.
