The search is on! Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility (VBSR) is seeking a new Executive Director. The organization is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated, inspired and experienced manager to fill the role and is accepting applications through June 15th. Avram Patt, former General Manager of Washington Electric Co-op, will join the VBSR team as Interim Manager starting June 1st and will oversee the hiring process for the next Executive Director as well as a portion of the organization’s day-to-day operations.
Sara Newmark, VBSR’s Board Chair noted that “during this interim period, Avram will give the organization’s Board of Directors the ability to take time with our job search and make sure that the right person is hired to take VBSR forward.” She continued, “Patt recently filled a similar function with Goddard College, where he assisted the college through their search for a new president.”
Candidates for VBSR’s next Executive Director should be actively interested in creating positive social change and be a motivating representative of VBSR to members and the public. The Board is looking for demonstrated leadership and exceptional organizational, financial management and communication skills. Specific responsibilities will include managing staff, interns and volunteers; support and engagement of the VBSR Board in planning and development; oversight and implementation of public policy activities, member benefits, special projects and programs, events and communication; and management of finances and budget, including fundraising, grant writing and major donor solicitations. Bachelor’s degree plus 7 years management experience (or equivalent) is preferred. VBSR is an Equal Opportunity Employer and encourages any all who meet these criteria to apply for the position. VBSR politely requests interested candidates refrain from calling the VBSR offices; letters of interest and resumes will be accepted via email only at [email protected]. The deadline for applications is June 15th.
