Copper Leaf Financial (CLF) has welcomed Michael L Thompson to their team of experienced financial planning experts.

Michael has 18 years of experience in the finance industry, working extensively in financial planning, wealth management and philanthropic planning for retirees, executives, and entrepreneurs.
Michael founded an organic food distribution company while attending the University of Florida in the late ‘70’s. The company grew rapidly and was his first entrepreneurial success. Over the next 18 years he was deeply involved in the development and growth of the natural and organic food industry. Michael remains passionate about small business and sustainable food systems and currently serves on the board of directors for Burlington’s Intervale Center.
Most recently, Michael was with Key Investment Services where he provided comprehensive financial planning and investment management to KeyBank customers in Vermont.
He holds FINRA Series 7 (General Securities Representative), Series 24 (Registered Securities Principal), Series 51 (Municipal Fund Principal), Series 63 (Uniform Securities Agent State Law), and Series 66 (Uniform Combined State Law), has earned the Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP®) professional designation from The American College, and is currently pursuing the advanced financial planning professional designation of Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
