He describes the station as having “the smallest staff but the biggest heart”.
Dr. Halle Sobel is a physician specializing in Internal Medicine and an Assistant Professor at the University of Vermont (UVM) College of Medicine. She is a graduate of Oberlin College and the UVM College of Medicine. Dr. Sobel completed her residency training at the University of Wisconsin’s hospital and clinic. She co-directs the ambulatory internal medicine resident clinic at the University of Vermont Medical Center.
“The Red Cross appreciates the commitment of these volunteer Board Members. In today’s busy world they generously give both their time and knowledge, enabling our organization to work on continuous improvement.” said Michael Kempesty, Northern New England Region CEO. “Without the support of these Board Members; the volunteers that help out at our blood drives and canteens and our loyal, generous blood donors, we could not fulfill our mission.”
The American Red Cross shelters, feeds and provides emotional support to victims of disasters; supplies about 40 percent of the nation’s blood; teaches skills that save lives; provides international humanitarian aid; and supports military members and their families.
