Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center has welcd Rheumatologist Carey J. Field, MD to the team of medical specialists. Having joined the staff in January, Dr. Field is currently accepting patients for diagnosis and treatment of rheumatic diseases and clinical problems involving joints, soft tissues, autoimmune diseases, vasculitis, and heritable connective tissue disorders. She will be working alongside the Hospital’s regionally known rheumatologist Dr. David Podell.
A board-certified internist, Dr. Field is a 2007 graduate of the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth College. She completed residencies in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in 2010 and 2012 respectively. She is an active member of the American College of Rheumatology, the American Medical Association, and the American College of Physicians. In addition, Dr. Field has served on several projects aimed at increasing public health awareness and expanding access to medical care for underserved populations both in the U.S. and in Latin America. She currently leads a research project focused on the links between rheumatoid arthritis and cardiovascular disease.
