Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center staff gathered recently to recognize and thank Linda Jean Anoe for 45 years of service to MAHHC. Anoe was hired as the Hospital’s Record Librarian on October 16, 1969, responsible for organizing and managing patients’ medical records, and the transcription and coding of all health-related information. For the remainder of her career, Anoe continued to serve in the Health Information Management Department, eventually assuming the role and responsibilities of director.
The ceremony to honor Anoe included a listing of the significant changes in protocol and technological advancements affecting MAHHC over the course of Anoe’s near half-century tenure at the Hospital. These included the changeover from paper to electronic records, from typewriters to PCs, from Free Care to Charity Care to Affordable Care, the implementation of the HIPAA Privacy Rule, as well as countless other types of transitions.
“Linda has supported MAHHC through a great many changes, both big and small,” said Hospital Chief Financial Officer, David Sanville. “Health care is a rapidly changing industry, and we’ve been fortunate to be able to rely on her consistency, flexibility, expertise, and dedication to help us successfully navigate these transitions.”
Fellow colleagues describe Anoe as knowledgeable, caring, and loyal and say they will miss her sense of humor and even-keeled nature.
On behalf of MAHHC’s staff, patients, and administration, we commend Linda Jean Anoe for her 45 years of service, and thank her for her loyalty and commitment to excellence.
