Molly Lambert Elected to Housing Vemont board of directors

The members of Housing Vermont have elected Molly Lambert to fill a vacant seat on its Board of Directors. Ms. Lambert is currently a principal in Lambert Mediation and Consulting. From 2010 to 2013, she was appointed by President Obama to be USDA Rural Development State Director for Vermont and New Hampshire. She served as president of the Vermont Captive Insurance Association from 2002 to 2009. From 1998 to 2002, Ms. Lambert was the Secretary of Commerce and Community Development, a cabinet-level position in the Administration of Governor Howard Dean. From 1991 to 1998, she focused on community economic development issues in Burlington as executive director of the Church Street Marketplace.

Housing Vermont is a private, nonprofit development company founded in 1988 to produce permanently affordable rental housing for Vermonters through partnerships with communities and the private sector. Since its inception, Housing Vermont has raised more than $280 million in private equity to finance 161 affordable rental housing developments throughout the State. This equity has leveraged an additional $377 million in private financing and public investment. The 4,825 apartments created or renovated in these efforts serve low and moderate income Vermonters including seniors and those with special needs. Many developments also include commercial space.
