BMH adds Fred Landes, MD, to medical staff

Brattleboro Memorial Hospital announced the hiring of Fred Landes, MD to the medical staff. He will provide care for patients in the BMH Center for Wound Healing and the hospital’s Emergency Department.

Landes joins BMH after serving as Medical Director for the North Adams Hospital Wound Center since its opening 2011. He was also an Attending Physician in Emergency Medicine at North Adams Regional Hospital for the past 15 years.

“Dr. Landes brings not only experience in wound healing, but an enthusiasm for improving the quality of lives of those patients affected with debilitating wounds. We’re very pleased to have him join the team,” said Marcy Rushford, BMH Director of Service Lines.

A graduate of New York Medical College, Landes served his internship at Saint Vincent’s Hospital in New York City and completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at Lincoln Hospital and Mental Health Center in Bronx, New York. He has been board-certified in Emergency Medicine for 25 years.

The BMH Center for Wound Healing provides specialized treatment for non-healing chronic wounds, or wounds that have not significantly improved from conventional treatments. It is located on the ground floor of the Main Hospital building at 17 Belmont Avenue in Brattleboro. The hours of operation are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. BMH has provided health care services for over one hundred years. A licensed, 61-bed, not-for-profit community hospital located in southeastern Vermont, it serves a rural population of about 55,000 people in 22 towns in Vermont, New Hampshire and Massachusetts.
