David Silverman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Union Bank is pleased to announce Jerry D. Peterson has been selected as the Bank’s new Senior Vice President and Senior Commercial Loan Officer. Peterson joined the Bank on August 25th, and is responsible for leading the commercial lending team, growing and managing the commercial loan portfolio, coordinating commercial lending activities, and promoting the Bank’s commercial lending services and products throughout northern Vermont and northwestern New Hampshire. He will serve on the Bank’s senior management team and the ALM committee.
A highly accomplished senior management executive with over 30 years of experience in finance and banking, Peterson has spent his entire career in commercial lending, including senior lending positions with community banks primarily in the suburban Boston and southern New Hampshire markets. Most recently, he was the Chief Credit Officer for seven years with Cambridge Savings Bank (MA).
“With his decades of experience in the banking industry and broad skillset that spans commercial lending, credit administration and portfolio management, Jerry will be a tremendous asset to our commercial loan division here at Union Bank,” said Silverman. His deep roots in community banking give him a strong understanding of the banking needs of the businesses we seek to serve as we expand the Bank’s growth strategy.” Peterson graduated with an M.B.A. from Babson College and received his Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts.
