Law Line, Vermont Legal Aid COTS Walk Challenge team top fundraiser in business team category

The Challenge Team representing Legal Services Law Line of Vermont and Vermont Legal Aid raised $3,125, making it the top fundraising team in the business category at the 25th Annual COTS Walk to benefit the Committee on Temporary Shelter (COTS). The event was held May 4. “The Law Line and Vermont Legal Aid Challenge Team was amazing,” wrote Gillian Taylor, COTS Community Outreach and Volunteer Specialist, in a late June letter announcing the results. “You were our top fundraising team among all business teams participating. Your hard work really paid off.” Law Line Staff Attorney Margaret Frye organized this year’s team. In addition to Frye, participating legal services staff and family members included Sam, Craig, Joseph, Jacob and Charlie Abel-Palmer; David, Lia and Matthew Chien and Jeff Fucci; Jim Court; Tom Garrett and Tate Charuk; Ben Gould; and Rachel Seelig. Each year, COTS serves about 2,000 people through shelter, outreach and prevention services as well as assisting with transitional and permanent housing. Vermont Legal Aid and Law Line of Vermont are nonprofit law firms that provide civil legal services primarily to low-income Vermonters throughout the state.
