Michael R. Tuttle, President and CEO of Merchants Bank, is pleased to announce that Marie Thresher has joined the company as Chief Risk Officer.
“Marie brings enhanced managerial experience to our internal audit processes, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and risk assessment protocols” Mr. Tuttle affirmed. “Through her leadership, we will continue to expand upon our commitment to sound risk management.”
Ms. Thresher’s experience includes over 20 years of expertise within the financial services industry. She holds a BS in Finance from Central Connecticut State University and holds multiple certifications related to her field, including Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), and Certified Risk Information Systems Control (CRISC). A former Senior Vice President and Chief Auditor of People’s United Bank, she is also a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (Green Mountain Chapter) and the Information Security and Control Association (Albany, New York chapter.) In addition, she serves on the Board of Vermont CARES, a locally based non-profit institution.

Ms. Thresher currently resides in Williston, Vermont.
