United Counseling Service (UCS) has announced the appointment of Michael Veitch as Director of Community Relations & Development. In the position, Veitch will be responsible for promoting relationships and communicating about the positive role UCS plays in the Bennington County community.
“We’re excited to welcome Michael to our team and look forward to his work on behalf of UCS in the Bennington community. His diverse experience will be a valuable asset to our organization,” said Executive Director Ralph Provenza.
Veitch has extensive experience working in government and community relations. Previous to joining UCS, he worked as a communications director in the New York State Senate and Assembly and also served as senior staff for the New York State Senate Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Committee.
“UCS is an outstanding resource for Bennington County because, as an organization, they’re helping people and improving the quality of life for so many in the community. I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to contribute to this work and communicate the success stories of clients and staff, along with expressing the outstanding work of UCS,” said Veitch.
Veitch will work in the administrative offices in Bennington, but plans to spend a significant amount of time throughout Bennington County working with residents and local organizations.
UCS serves children, adults, families, and seniors through nationally recognized counseling, early care and education, and clinical support.
