PC Construction promotes three to build leadership

PC Construction is pleased to announce the promotion of three of its employee-owners. Mike Franzoni, Chip LaBonte and Chet Layman have each been appointed to the role of project executive, helping to strengthen leadership within the company’s Water Treatment business segment and Special Projects group.

Mike Franzoni, who has been with the company since 1979, brings over 30 years of knowledge and experience to his new position as project executive in the Water Treatment group. He has served in various roles, ranging foreman to senior project manager, and possesses an intimate understanding of PC Construction and its clients. In his new role, Franzoni will oversee business projects in Maryland, Northern Virginia and Pennsylvania.

Chip LaBonte began his career with the company in 2003 as a project manager. During his tenure, he has successfully managed multi-million dollar projects, honing his skills and developing a deep knowledge of PC Construction along the way. In his new role as project executive in the Water Treatment group, LaBonte will assume responsibility for operations in North Carolina and the Tidewater region of Virginia.

“We are proud to have Mike and Chip take on these roles as we continue to grow the company’s Water Treatment business,” said Jeff Garner, senior vice president at PC Construction. “The added leadership in these defined territories prepares PC Construction’s Water Treatment business segment for future growth while providing teams with dedicated support and guidance throughout project execution.”

Chet Layman, an 18-year veteran with PC Construction, began his career as a project engineer and quickly advanced through the ranks before his promotion to senior project manager. Over the past 13 years he has been instrumental in developing the company’s Special Projects service model into a successful niche. As a project executive, Layman will take on responsibility for the company’s special project’s initiatives.

“Chet’s contributions over the years have been critical to the success of the company’s Special Projects operations,” said Jay Fayette, senior vice president at PC Construction. “I have no doubt that he is the right candidate to lead the charge in this increasingly important business segment.”

PC Construction offers general contracting, construction management and design-build services to private companies and public entities of all sizes. Ranking among the top 200 contractors in the country, the company manages projects up and down the East Coast and in the southeastern United States from its corporate headquarters in South Burlington, Vermont and regional offices in Maine and North Carolina.
