Two local trial attorneys have started a new law firm, Maley and Maley, PLLC. Founded by partners John P. Maley and Christopher J. Maley, the father and son team will represent individuals who have been seriously injured or the families of those who have been killed due to negligence or medical malpractice. The firm is located at 30 Main Street, Suite 450 in Burlington, Vermont.
Both attorneys are Burlington natives and have distinguished careers as trial attorneys. Both have received the highest (AV Preeminent ®) peer-review rating from Martindale Hubbell, and both are listed in the current edition of The Best Lawyers in America ®. John is also listed in Best Lawyers in America ® as the 2014 “Lawyer of the Year” for Medical Malpractice Law – Plaintiffs, Burlington.
John Maley is a fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers. He is a graduate of the University of Vermont and the University of Maine School of Law.
Christopher Maley is president of the Vermont Association for Justice (a 200-member organization formerly called the Vermont Trial Lawyers Association), serves as chair of its legislative committee, and is the 2012 recipient of the association’s Special Service Award. He is a graduate of St. Lawrence University and Suffolk University Law School.
Heather Moreau, Maley and Maley’s Firm Manager and Senior Paralegal previously worked for 20 years at the prominent Burlington defense law firm, Paul, Frank + Collins. Heather is one of fewer than ten Vermont paralegals holding the Registered Paralegal designation - earned by passing an advanced competency exam administered by the National Federation of Paralegal Associations. She also holds the Associate in Claims (AIC) designation from the Insurance Institutes of America (IIA). She is a graduate of Champlain College’s Professional Studies and Paralegal programs.
