Northwestern Medical Center is pleased to announce that Maria Mateus has joined the hospital in the role of Assistant Vice President of Physician Practices.
Mateus most recently worked at Aiken Regional Medical Center, in Aiken South Carolina as the Administrative Director for Aiken Professional Associates. Prior to that, she spent 11 years at community hospitals in Indiana working in various capacities including director of practice operations, director of physician services and business development and practice manager.
“We are so pleased to have Maria as part of our leadership team. We have a strong commitment to physician partnerships and ensuring access to outpatient services. Maria has the right mix of practice management experience, strong provider relations, and team building skills that will strengthen our physician-based services. Physician practices are a central part to our system requiring strong creative leadership. Maria is jumping right in and making a positive impact already. We are fortunate to have her,” says NMC CEO Jill Berry Bowen.
Mateus oversees Physician Services at Northwestern Medical Center as well as Northwestern Occupational Health, the Northwestern Walk-In Clinic, Northwestern Lifestyle Medicine, Northwestern Primary Care, Northwestern Georgia Health Center and medical clinics at NMC.
