Willem Lange will be the keynote speaker at CVAA's Annual Meeting & Volunteer Recognition on Oct 29 from 3:00-4:30 pm at the Doubletree Hotel and Conference Center in South Burlington. Lang is an acclaimed commentator for Vermont Public Radio and the host of New Hampshire Public Television’s weekly show “Windows to the Wild.” In 1973 Lange founded the Geriatric Adventure Society, a group of outdoor enthusiasts. Lange will discuss “Aging With Humor.”
Each year CVAA recognized its staff, volunteers and community partners. Over 1000 CVAA volunteers each year help seniors remain at home. Volunteers deliver Meals on Wheels, provide companionship, deliver groceries, build ramps, and shovel snow to name just a few. According to Bev Hill "There are 30,000 seniors in Addison, Chittenden, Franklin, and Grand Isle counties. With 50 staff members, it would be impossible for CVAA to serve the needs of seniors in our area without the help of volunteers. We couldn't do all that we do if volunteers weren't doing all that they do to help seniors in the community maintain their independence and dignity."
CVAA will present awards to organizations and individuals that have supported CVAA’s mission. CVAA educates, empowers, and supports seniors and their caregivers to live with independence and dignity. We empower seniors and their caregivers to use their voices, find solutions, and obtain services that help them lead the lives they choose.
Join CVAA in recognizing its dedicated volunteers and committed community partners who work to make sure that seniors in the Champlain Valley have the highest quality of life possible.
The CVAA Volunteer Recognition & Annual Meeting is free and open to the public but you must RSVP by calling 865-0360.
