VCIA welcomes incoming chairman William D. Riley

The Vermont Captive Insurance Association (VCIA) welcomes incoming chairman William D. Riley, attorney at Burlington-based Paul Frank+ Collins, at the 28th Annual VCIA Conference. Riley, alongside Paul Frank + Collins’ Captive Insurance Group Chair Stephanie Mapes, will be actively involved at the Conference, which runs August 13 - 15.

Riley, who has almost 20 years of experience working in Vermont’s captive industry, is the first attorney in private practice to chair the board, which has historically been led by captive insurance company owners.

Riley will be on hand to discuss the issues that will be the focus for his tenure as chair. These include:

• Ramping up VCIA’s ability to be proactive in tracking and responding to legislative and regulatory developments impacting Vermont and the captive industry as a whole

• Monitoring insurance, financial and tax legislation that effects Vermont, the leading onshore domicile

• Keeping track of what other domiciles and the federal government are doing that impacts captives and their parent companies

• Enhance the VCIA’s abilities to lead, respond and ultimately protect the interests of its members
