The VT/NH Marketing Group is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting excellence in education and training for marketing in all channels and formats, and to achieving and upholding the highest ethical business standards. Each year the group presents its Lone Pine Award to acknowledge a person or persons that has supported the group through program attendance and/or given of their time to promote the activities of the organization. Two Lone Pine Awards were presented at the group’s 2013 annual conference, held June 5–7 in Whitefield, N.H.
One award was presented to Linda Mitchell of Lower Waterford, Vt., an active member of the VT/NH Marketing Group since 1993 and retired professor of Marketing at Lyndon State College in Lyndonville, Vt. Mitchell has been instrumental in helping the organization reach out to the academic community, establishing a book collection with regional university and college professors and championing the group’s annual scholarship awards. As a long-time member of the VTNHMG Board of Directors, she has served on the group’s Annual Conference Planning Committee and served as Membership Chairwoman in 2012.
“The VT/NH Marketing Group has always included smart, entrepreneurial market leaders who graciously share their experience, knowledge, and wisdom with all members and with attendees at Seminars and the Annual Conference,” said Mitchell. “It is a pleasure and honor as a Board member to work with outstanding business and marketing professionals.”
A second award for longtime, outstanding service to the VTNHMG went to incoming President and longtime Board Member Shari LaPierre, Executive Administrator with MEI Search Consultants in Dublin, N.H. LaPierre first joined the organization in 1992, serving as a board member 1995 to 1996 and later as Secretary and Vice President, including terms on the Education Committee and as Conference Chairwoman.
“The VT/NH Marketing Group is not just another professional club,” said LaPierre. “It’s a close-knit, familial organization where people can learn the most up-to-date and relevant marketing techniques. The Group has been important to keeping my skills fresh, but I find service to the members, working with bright, energetic, service-oriented people, and creating strong friendships the best benefits.”
