Elizabeth Wesson, 29, of Williston was crowned Mrs. Vermont International this month and will go on to compete for the title of Mrs. International 2013 during the final competition in Chicago, July 16-20, 2013.
Wesson is a busy mother of one daughter and owner of Vitalis Wellness & Nutrition, a holistic health company specializing in weight loss and plant- based nutrition. She’s also an active community servant, volunteering her time and talents to many organizations, including Girls on the Run, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, Cocktails Curing Cancer and Essex Alliance Church. During her reign as Mrs. Vermont International, the Triple Negative Breast Cancer Foundation will serve as her platform. Wesson’s cousin was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer at the young age of 26, and through the foundation, she will be able provide support to research and to patients and their families.
“When my cousin Janey was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer, I watched from the sidelines helplessly while she went through aggressive treatment,” said Wesson. “As Mrs. Vermont International, I can give a voice to Janey’s story by advocating for the Triple Negative Breast Cancer Foundation and bringing awareness of the disease to young women across the state.”In addition to each contestant’s charitable platform, InternationalPageants, Inc. supports the National Heart Association’s Go Red for Women program through volunteer and financial support. The Go Red for Women movement is dedicated to fighting heart disease among women. The Mrs. International Pageant is owned and operated by International Pageants, Inc., which also operates Miss International and Miss Teen International pageants. It is the only platform-based pageant system dedicated to highlighting women’s accomplishments through community support. Mrs. International showcases married women 21-to 56 years old and features three categories of competition, including interview, evening gown and fitness wear.
