Putney residents Cicely Carroll and Bob Lawson have founded Travel Fever Tours. Travelers from Vermont and around the country can now visit Spain, Holland, Italy and France. The company specializes in small group tours, each focusing on a theme or activity, such as cycling, birding, art, or the history and culture of a specific location in Europe.
Travel Fever Tours has been founded by long-time Putney residents Cicely Carroll and Bob Lawson who have spent large parts of the past decade living or working in Spain, Italy and Switzerland. After exploring Europe on their own, the two will now be sharing their favorite spots and activities with small groups of up to 12 people.
Three tours have been scheduled for this fall, including a bicycle tour of Holland, a trip for birders to see migrating birds in Spain and a cultural tour of Andalucía in southern Spain. Another four tours are planned for the spring of 2014.
“We have been so fortunate to see so much of Europe,” said Cicely Carroll. “This is a great way to share some of this knowledge with others.”
The company has previously organized a tour for painters to Tuscany, Italy, in conjunction with the River Gallery School in Brattleboro.
