Young people from across Vermont showcased their talent Saturday, March 30, 2013 at Saint Michael's College in Colchester as they competed in the 4th Annual Vermont HAS Talent competition. Sixty-one participants between the ages of eight and twenty-four performed in thirty-six acts to a sold-out crowd at the school's recital hall recently.
The winners are as follows:
Grand Prize: Matteo Palmer of Vergennes, VT, Winner $500, a $1,000 scholarship to the John Robert Powers Talent School in Boston, and will appear as a feature performer in the Miss Vermont Scholarship Competition at 7PM on Saturday, June, 22, 2013.
First Place, 13 - 24 age group: Trendsetterz, from Waterbury, VT - Ernest Phillips, Kate Flaherty, McKinley Pierce, Sam Bright, Sienna Jean, Zoe Werth, Jenna Campanion,Winners of $100, $100 Gift Certificate to Flynn Arts, and a $750 scholarship to John Robert Powers Talent School.
Second Place 13 - 24 age group: Brandon Bailey and Katherine Bullock with accompanist Diane Chartrand of Rutland, VT, Winners of $50 Gift Certificate to Flynn Arts and will appear as featured performers in the Miss Vermont's Outstanding Teen Competition at 2PM on Saturday, June 22, 2013.
First Place 8 - 12 age group: Rose Newton of St. Albans, VT, Winner of $100, and a $100 gift certificate to Flynn Arts, $750 scholarship to John Robert Powers Talent School.
Second Place 8 - 12 age group: Rebecca Gardner of South Hero, VT. Winner of $50 gift certificate to Flynn Arts.
Band Award: Townsend Revenue of Essex Junction, VT. Tyler Herrity, Ryan Mills, Bryant Crocker, Maxim Mashrick, Winners of $300.
