Win Thomas, president and owner of Thomas Insurance & Benefits recently announced that the firm has reached an agreement to join The Richards Group, a family owned independent insurance agency based in central and southern Vermont.
Win, Johanna Keefe and Ken Davis will continue as always servicing clients in the Rutland office. With over 80 employees, The Richards Group is an independent insurance agency providing a comprehensive array of services for individuals, families, and businesses, including property and casualty insurance, retirement planning and investment management strategies. The firm currently has offices in Brattleboro, Norwich, Ludlow, Bellows Falls, Wilmington, Keene, NH and now Rutland, Vermont. “Rutland is a wonderful region with a dynamic economy” said Drew Richards, Vice President of The Richards Group. “We are excited to be part of the community and to have our Rutland team staffed with longtime, local residents”.
Win will continue servicing clients and advising them on strategic planning for their employee benefits as it relates to health care reform and he looks forward to being part of a full service agency. “Win has a strong background and great reputation statewide and having Win on board for the next 4 or 5 years will be a true asset to our team”, commented Tom Scull, Principal of The Richards Group Employee Benefits practice. “Together with Win, our benefits team will prove to be a strong force helping employers navigate The State Exchange and Johanna Keefe will take on the role of Account Executive and Advisor. A long time employee of Thomas Insurance, Johanna has more than 9 years of employee benefits experience and will provide support in all areas of group benefits including defined contribution modeling, wellness programs, consumer directed health plans, and employee education and communication programs.
Ken Davis, a 30 year veteran of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Vermont and currently an independent contractor with Thomas Insurance will continue in that capacity as well.
The agency will remain at its present location, 87 North Main Street in Rutland, VT.
