Elizabeth Métraux, a Virginia native with more than ten years of experience in communications and international development, was recently announced as the new vice president of the National Gardening Association, based in Burlington, Vermont.
Métraux comes to the organization after a decade in political communications and development, largely in the Middle East and Central Asia, working as a digital strategist on political and social movements in the region. Immediately prior to joining the National Gardening Association, she was the Director of Communications and a Program Director at PH International, a nonprofit organization in Vermont, where she managed U.S. government programs in Eurasia. She is also an adjunct professor of Middle Eastern studies at Champlain College.
For the past forty years, the National Gardening Association has cultivated essential connections between people and the environment, promoting health and nutrition, community development and environment stewardship.
