Josiah Allen Real Estate, Vermont’s premier independent real estate office, recently announced that it has opened a second location, in Manchester. Laura Beckwith, Principal Broker, said, “This expansion will make it even easier for buyers and sellers in Manchester to come to Josiah Allen, and it gives all our clients greater exposure. We are bringing on board two very experienced, professional agents—Managing Broker Clare de Zengotita and Sales Associate Vivian Thomas. Their expertise will be a tremendous asset to Josiah Allen and they will manage the Manchester office.” Josiah Allen Real Estate, founded more than 50 years ago, is the area’s oldest continuously operating real estate agency. The new office will be at 54 Highland Avenue, previously occupied by ReMax Star Properties where both Clare and Vivian worked.
Clare de Zengotita has been a Real Estate Agent since 2003 and a Manchester resident since 1992. She has a BS in nursing from Columbia University and a JD from Northeastern School of Law. She worked at Burr and Burton Academy for 5 years and as a longtime resident and employee at BBA, she is knowledgeable about all the area schools. As a real estate agent, she is intimately familiar with the area and gained valuable real estate experience working for ReMax, Vermont Country Properties, and Battenkill Real Estate.
Vivian Thomas has 30 years of real estate experience, most recently with ReMax, and has been honored many times as a top sales person. She has a degree from Carnegie-Mellon and raised her two children here. She has first-hand business experience, having started and run her own very successful business along with her husband in the area some years ago. She has vast and deep area knowledge.
Josiah Allen Real Estate has been helping buyers and sellers come together since 1962. Laura Beckwith purchased the agency from Josiah Allen upon his retirement in 1982. She has led the growth of Josiah Allen from a sleepy, one-realtor, country office to a dynamic boutique agency respected throughout the state and the leading sales and listings office in Vermont.
