Elaine Letourneau is named the 2012 Outstanding Community Service Banker of the Year for Vermont

The Vermont Bankers Association honored Elaine Letourneau with the 2012 Outstanding Community Service Banker Award at their annual meeting on September 8. This was the 28th Anniversary of the award being presented to deserving bankers who exemplify real and tangible dedication to the communities in which they live.

Letourneau is Senior Vice President at The Bank of Bennington and has been the senior lender there for nearly 20 years. During that time, she has consistently demonstrated a desire to make our community a better place to live and to help those in need. Her service to the community over the years includes Board participation for the Emergency Food and Fuel Free Clinic, Applegate Housing, American Red Cross, Bennington County Industrial Corporation, and the United Way. She also actively serves her church on the Finance Committee and was a youth ministry leader for several years.

Jim Brown, the bank’s President and CEO, nominated Letourneau for the award saying, “Elaine is a great example of how community bankers give back to the communities that we serve. I was proud to nominate her for this award and I am even prouder to work with her here at The Bank of Bennington.”
