Vermont Land Trust welcomes Nick Richardson in new Vice President role

The Vermont Land Trust has announced that they have hired Nick Richardson as the new Vice President for Enterprise and Finance. Over the past decade, VLT’s conservation tools have increasingly taken on more of an entrepreneurial design. For example, VLT’s work to help new farm enterprises gain affordable access to land requires both conservation planning and business analysis. Nick Richardson will bring his financial management and business operations skills to the VLT management team.

Nick spent several years in Boston and Providence working for nonprofits focused on youth leadership and education reform. After receiving his MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, Nick worked for Vermont Energy Investment Corporation and Encore Redevelopment, a renewable energy development firm.

“VLT is fortunate to be adding Nick to our leadership team,” said Gil Livingston. “With deep family roots in land conservation, strong skills as a financial manager, and his business acumen, Nick will bring a distinctive new perspective to an already effective land conservation organization.”

"The Vermont Land Trust is at the vanguard of conservation work in Vermont, and has been for a generation,” Nick said recently. “Now more than ever before the choices we make about stewarding our natural resources will define what the future of Vermont will be. I'm honored and humbled to be a part of this effort, which serves a mission that is so close to my heart."
