VT family-run resort welcomes fifth generation to the staff

Basin Harbor Resort announced the naming of their new Director of Sales and in so doing marked the first of the fifth generation from the Beach family to join the ranks at this historic resort. Sarah Morris, daughter of Pennie Beach and Peter Morris, will now head the resort’s sales team.

Morris is a graduate of the Cornell School of Hotel Administration and brings experience from prior positions with the Hillsboro Club in Florida as well as the Harvard Club and Charles Hotel in Boston.

“There’s no doubt in my mind that a large part of our success can be traced back to the fact that we’ve always been a family run resort catering to families looking for exceptional travel experiences,” states forth generation owner, Bob Beach “We’re thrilled that Sarah allows that tradition to carry on with the next generation, and we also recognize her skills and experience in the industry and look forward to her bringing many strengths to the position on a professional level.”

Basin Harbor Club was established in 1886 by Ardelia Beach and has remained family owned for 120 years. Today, guests are greeted by fourth generation hosts, Pennie Beach and Robert H. Beach, Jr. Originally a 225-acre working farm catering to summer boarders, the resort has expanded to cover 700 acres of Vermont‘s most pristine land along the shores of Lake Champlain, encompassing the main lodge, cottages, a private golf course, spectacular gardens, a 3,200 foot grass airstrip, conference facilities and the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum—an organization dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of Lake Champlain.
