Healthy Living Market and Café is happy to announce the addition of two registered dietitians to its family of experts specializing in health and wellness. Kimberly Evans and Leslie Langevin from Whole Health Nutrition will be in-store every Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. beginning June 22 to offer customers 15 minute consultations at no charge.
Evans and Langevin will be on hand to answer customer questions on a wide range of wellness-related topics. Their expertise on the healing properties of foods, supplemental sources of nutrients. managing and treating symptoms using the “food pharmacy”, and their deep pool of healthy recipes will be available to interested customers.
Langevin explains, “I entered the field of nutrition because of my complete love for food, its healing properties and to be able to explain the scientific reasons of how food interacts with chronic disease and our bodies.” Evans, who has advanced training in sports nutrition, integrative nutrition and functional medicine, and nutritional therapy for the treatment of eating disorders, added, “My passion about food and nutrition is reinforced by my awe of the human body.” Both women are affiliated with Whole Health Nutrition, a company of registered dietitians dedicated to helping clients find meaningful and delicious relief from symptoms through the functional use of food.
Katy Lesser, owner of Healthy Living Market and Café, can’t wait to begin offering this service to her customers starting Friday, June 22. “Education is a big part of what we do at Healthy Living. Our Learning Center has become a source of cooking and wellness classes that add a lot of value to the community.” Lesser says. “To have two expert dietitians available for customers to speak with on a weekly basis will be truly beneficial and something we hope many customers take advantage of.”
Evans and Langevin will be at Healthy Living Market and Café every Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., beginning June 22. F
Founded in 1986 in South Burlington, Vermont, Healthy Living Market and Cafe has grown from a tiny shop with one employee, to Vermont’s largest natural and organic supermarket. Family owned and operated by Katy Lesser; CEO, her son Eli Lesser-Goldsmith; acting COO, and daughter Nina Lesser-Goldsmith; director of the Healthy Living Learning Center, the company has grown from a tiny health food store to a full-service supermarket, Cafe and Learning Center, with a staff over 150. From the beginning, the company forged relationships with local farmers, and has focused on Vermont agriculture, working with farmers to bring products to market. Customer service, staff happiness and community outreach are major parts of the mission. A second store in Saratoga Springs, NY is slated to open in early 2013.
