JK Adams Company appoints new CEO: first non-family at helm

JK Adams Company, the premium supplier of Made in USA wood housewares, announces the appointment of Jon Blatchford as the Company’s Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Blatchford joins JK Adams after working for a group of privately held manufacturing companies for the past 20 years. Most recently he was the Director of Sales & Marketing for New Hampshire Industries.

As the first non-family CEO to lead JK Adams, Blatchford assumes responsibility for all operational and strategic aspects of the Company’s business. He will report to Malcolm Cooper, Jr., the Company’s Chairman and second-generation owner.

According to Cooper, Jon brings to the Company, smart management skills that focus squarely on growth and innovation using American resources on American soil.

“Jon’s disciplined leadership and his experience at blending the creative process with the manufacturing process to produce inventive concepts is a natural fit for our Company since we consider product innovation a critical component of our success and our future growth model,” said Cooper. “We are thrilled that Jon will lead our team here in Dorset to address the needs of our customers with the highest levels of service and quality that are JK Adams’ reputation”.

JK Adams Company is a 70 -year-old family owned business that designs, manufactures and markets a proprietary line of high-end wood housewares. The company supplies name brand resellers such as Williams Sonoma, Crate & Barrel, Amazon and many other specialty retailers across North America and around the world. It also operates its retail store at its factory in Dorset, Vermont.

Jon will be relocating to southern Vermont with his wife and two daughters from their home in New Hampshire.
