BBA hires new Communications Specialist

The Burlington Business Association welcomed Russ Elek as the organization’s new Communications Specialist in late October. Elek will work to streamline the organization’s public communication, social media and membership outreach efforts while helping support the BBA's mission.

Said Kelly Devine of the hire, “We are looking forward to having Russ Elek on our team. He has proven communications skills and seems to really understand our mission.” Elek echoed her sentiments, adding “I am truly excited to being working for such an important organization with such a strong and vibrant history.”

Elek, who has Communication degree from Hiram College in Ohio, has interned and worked in the communication departments of The Cleveland Museum of Natural History, Sojourners Care Network, and Friends of Burlington Gardens. He moved to Burlington, Vermont in late August with his fiancée Sarah Heiss, Ph.D, who recently accepted a position in the department of Community Development and Applied Economics at the University of Vermont.
