Joe Hayes, CPG, PG, Branch Manager of the Waterbury, VT office of Environmental Compliance Services, Inc. (ECS), attended the New England Brownfield Consultant Workshop presented by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on December 14, 2011 in Worcester, MA.
Mr. Hayes, the only consultant from Vermont in attendance, had the opportunity to hear about and participate in discussions about many of the important aspects of EPA’s Brownfields Assessment, Cleanup, and Revolving Loan Fund grants. The presentations and discussions were intended to help the consultant community proactively manage grant activities and effectively partner with EPA, the states, and stakeholders. ECS is currently performing services for several Brownfield sites in Vermont.
Mr. Hayes has managed more than 500 Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) and is responsible for studies evaluating the presence of petroleum and hazardous waste contamination. He oversees several site investigation and remediation projects in Vermont, including hydrogeologic investigations and design and implementation of contaminant remediation.
