Charles W. (Charlie) Bucknam, Jr., has been appointed Assistant Head for Business at Lyndon Institute. Bucknam comes to the position after a long career in banking and finance in Vermont. Most recently he served for 14 years as President and Chief Executive Officer of LyndonBank in Lyndonville, Vermont.
“Charlie is recognized as a financial leader in the Northeast Kingdom, and his experience as a Corporator serving on our Trustee Finance Committee gives him valuable perspective on school finances,” said Rick Hilton, headmaster of the independent high school.
Bucknam joins LI after three years as financial consultant with the firm of Bucknam Black Brazil P.C. in St. Johnsbury, Vermont where he analyzed the financial records of individuals and small businesses; prepared attorneys for mediation and trial; served as an expert witness in financial matters; and advised clients on various financial issues and strategies. Bucknam will continue as financial consultant basis for the firm on a part time basis.
Bucknam received his MBA from the University of Vermont and his B.A. in economics from Cornell University. He also graduated from the Stonier Graduate School of Banking.
He is a Director of Community National Bank and a trustee and vice-chair of Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital, and a member of the Vermont Transportation Board. He is a former trustee of Vermont State Colleges where he chaired the Finance Committee.
