Thomas S. Leavitt, Executive Vice President of Merchants Bank, announced the promotion of Heather Williams to Branch President of Merchants Malletts Bay in Colchester. Ms. Williams will be leading all branch activities for this location, replacing Nanci Glindmyer, who is retiring.
“Heather is a dedicated, skilled banker and lender, with a strong commitment to serving her community and helping everyone who walks through our doors,” Leavitt said. “Through her nearly 10-year career at Merchants Bank, she has continued to progress to greater levels of responsibility – setting a high standard of service and professionalism. We are excited to have her lead this branch. Her energy and experience will enable us to further enhance services for customers.”
A native of Vermont, Ms. Williams started her career with Merchants in 2002 as a Floating Teller for Chittenden County. She then joined the Essex branch as a Personal Banker.
For the next seven years, Ms. Williams served as a Personal Banker and Lender at the White Street location in South Burlington. While there, she performed all aspects of the Personal Banker role, in addition to handling all types of consumer, residential and commercial loans. She served as an assistant manager and as a teller trainer for new employees, among many other duties. Ms. Williams received her associate’s degree in business management from the Community College of Vermont.
As Branch President, she will be responsible for the operation of the Merchants Malletts Bay location at 22 Bissette Drive in Colchester. Her responsibilities will include customer service, lending, business development, staff development and community relations.
