Erik Urch completes soil vapor intrusion training

Erik Urch, a Project Manager with Environmental Compliance Services, Inc.’s (ECS’) Waterbury office, recently completed a two-day training course called Vapor Intrusion Pathway: A Practical Guideline in Detroit, Michigan.

Soil vapor intrusion – the migration of volatile chemicals from the subsurface into overlying structures – has become a considerable environmental concern for regulators, businesses and residents. The course, administered by the Interstate Technology and Regulatory Council, focuses on the vapor intrusion exposure pathway. Led by internationally recognized experts, the classroom training covers strategies to conduct site screening and investigations, tools to collect quality data and evaluate the results, and ways to build solutions for vapor intrusion issues.
