Larry Sudbay, President and Chief Executive Officer of SymQuest® Group, the region’s leading provider of network and document technology solutions and services, is proud to announce that SymQuest Group received United Way’s Live United Award. The Live United Award recognizes organizations that give back to the community at all levels. This year SymQuest employees raised more dollars for the United Way than ever before, but not only did they increase their giving significantly, they increased their participation significantly. And not just this year, they’ve been giving back since the company was founded fifteen years ago.
SymQuest provides many venues for giving. They have given $100,000 in SymPowered Office Makeovers throughout their market areas. The Makeover is awarded to the non-profit whose application demonstrates a strong need and allies with SymQuest’s philosophy of promoting the health and wellbeing of children and families. They host an annual golf tournament that benefits a different non-profit organization each year. They willingly jump into the frozen waters of Lake Champlain in support of Vermont Special Olympics during the Penguin Plunge, and they put on their walking shoes to support Relay for Life. And the list goes on. And on.
As John Cronin, United Way’s Community Campaign Manager put it during his delivery speech at the United Way dinner on May 11, 2011, “In terms of award winning advocacy, they have been labeled “The Cream of the Crop.” If you are hoping to be employed by this company, you better be able to answer the interview question about community service!”
“We don’t actively seek to win awards, and we typically don’t make a big deal about them when we do, until it comes to community giving. I am so proud of each and every one of the SymQuest employees for the roles they play. Each person puts their heart and hands into their community, and they do it without any fanfare, without any expectation for recognition. I couldn’t be more honored to work with these talented, caring, selfless people,” stated Sudbay.
