Stowe Area Association Executive Director Ed Stahl is pleased to announce Dean Burnell’s new role as Finance & Human Resources Manager.
"Dean has been a valuable member of our Central Reservations staff for the past 9 years and brings to this new job a tremendous knowledge of all aspects of the Association and an in depth familiarity with our members and their needs,” says Stahl, “We are very fortunate to have someone with Dean's background and talents to fill this important position."
Dean began working part time at SAA during the fall of 2002 in Central Reservations. He later became a full time employee and was then promoted to the Assistant Sales Manager position in 2006. Dean has now moved into the position of Finance & Human Resources Manager, recently vacated by Christy Patt who retired after 30 years at SAA.
Burnell stated, “I am thankful to Christy, for all the training and advice she gave me over the last couple months. I’m also thankful to everyone at SAA for creating time and space for this helpful and (hopefully) smooth transition.”
In 1994 Burnell moved to Stowe after graduating Phi Beta Kappa from Colby College. His inspiration for the move, like many other Vermonters, was for the skiing. He quickly found work in the area which included 101.7 FM ‘Classic Hits’ as an on-air personality, and positions at Peoples Academy and the Mountaineer Inn.
Burnell currently lives in Johnson with his wife Perry. He is the Treasurer on the Lamoille County Players Board of Directors. He has directed and performed in several shows for LCP during the last 15 years.
Stowe Area Association has worked to support and promote area member businesses for over 70 years. Stowe Area Association is first and foremost a tourism marketing organization, and secondly a chamber of commerce.
