Comcast, one of the nation’s leading providers of entertainment, information and communications products and services, today announced that Wayne Rustin has been named Vice President of Human Resources for the company’s Western New England Region, which includes Connecticut, Western Massachusetts, New York and Vermont.
In this role, Rustin will oversee all of the region’s Human Resources functions, including staffing, recruiting, payroll, employee relations, internal communications, benefits and training through Comcast University – the company’s internal training and leadership development program.

Rustin brings more than 20 years of human resources experience to his role, previously holding senior HR leadership positions with various companies including IBM, JC Penney and, most recently, serving as Chief Human Capital Officer for New York City. In addition to his extensive background in human resources, Rustin has also established himself in the legal profession. A member of the State Bar of Texas and the District of Columbia Bar, he has served as Senior Attorney to the National Labor Relations Board in Fort Worth, Texas; as a Municipal Court Judge for the city of Fort Worth; and as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Dallas School of Management.
Rustin earned his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Virginia State University. He earned his Law degree from Howard University School of Law, and a Master of Laws degree in Comparative & International Law from the Georgetown Law Center. Rustin is active in the community, currently serving on the board of directors for the Amos House in Danbury, Connecticut, which works to help transition homeless families to permanent housing. Rustin resides in New Fairfield, Connecticut with his wife and two children.
