Dorset Theatre Festival welcomes Megan Thörn as their new president

The Board of the Dorset Theatre Festival has welcomed Megan Thörn as their new president this February. Megan is taking over the reins from Jean Miller of Arlington, who served in that capacity for six years and who set in place the plans for the theatre’s current rejuvenation. Megan is ideally suited to continue that work and is very excited about helping continue to grow DTF's recent success as the festival prepares for its exciting new Summer Season 2011.

Megan is a resident of Dorset. She earned a BFA in Graphic Design from the Rhode Island School of Design and worked for several firms in New York City before becoming Art Director in the Corporate Communications department of Drexel Burnham Lambert during its heyday. She then earned her JD from The Fordham University School of Law and joined Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy. Megan is still licensed to practice in New York and just recently passed the Vermont Bar and was sworn in.

Megan, her husband Bo (an executive with a large multinational company), and their three children lived overseas for about ten years before returning to Dorset in 2007. She has a long history of volunteer work in her local community. In addition to joining the DTF Board in January 2010, she is the Dorset School Town Chair for the JISP program and is very involved with fundraising events for the Dorset School.

The Dorset Theatre Festival is in its 36th year of providing high quality professional summer theater in the hills of Vermont. For more information, please visitwww.dorsettheatrefestival.org.
