Lund Family Center recently welcomed Americorps* VISTA Eireann Aspell to its team. Eireann will spend the next year developing and implementing a mentor program for Lund Family Center participants. The goal of the program is to provide healthy and positive relationships for a range of individuals who need extra personal support from mothers in Lund’s Residential Treatment program, community clients and children and youths in foster care awaiting adoptive families through Lund. Eireann is a recent graduate of Saint Michael’s College with a degree in English Literature. During her undergraduate experience, she was involved with a variety of volunteer opportunities through MOVE, Saint Michael’s volunteer program, and was an editor for the Onion River Review, the college’s literary and arts review. Aspell is originally from Concord, New Hampshire.
Eireann has quickly become part of the Lund team. In addition to her work researching various mentor programs to design one that meets the needs of a diverse client base, Eireann has volunteered at numerous events and pitched in to cover staffing shortages, conduct grant research and assist with staff retreat preparations.
