Southern Vermont College Welcomes New Full-time Faculty Members

Southern Vermont College is pleased to announce the appointment of four, new, full-time faculty members: Bonnie Anderson, Peter Kantor, Sarah Knapp-Oliver and Jennifer Nelson.

Bonnie Anderson, BSN, RN, is the new instructor in the Division of Nursing. Anderson earned her BSN from the University of Massachusetts and expects her MSN from Walden University this coming spring. Prior to SVC, Anderson held adjunct faculty positions at the University of Massachusetts and at Berkshire Community College. Anderson is certified in Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS); she is also a certified trainer in CPR for the American Heart Association.

Peter Kantor, ABD, is a visiting lecturer of Science in The John Merck Division of Science and Technology. Kantor was recently a visiting professor of computer science at Marlboro College. Prior to SVC, Kantor was an adjunct professor at the University of Albany, an assistant professor (Web Programming and Design) at Hudson Valley Community College and an associate professor (Web Programming and Design) at the University of Advancing Technology. Kantor has an MS degree in Science and Technology Studies from RPI and is currently in ABD status there.

Sarah Knapp-Oliver is an assistant professor of Psychology in The Donald Everett Axinn Division of Social Sciences. Knapp-Oliver holds a Ph.D. in Social/Health Psychology from Stony Brook University and an MA in Psychology from Stony Brook. Prior to SVC, Knapp-Oliver completed a two-year term as a visiting assistant professor of Psychology at Mount Holyoke College and was an instructor at Stony Brook University.

Jennifer Nelson is an assistant professor of Mathematics in The John Merck Division of Science and Technology. Nelson holds a Ph.D. in Biology (Theoretical Ecology) from Duke University and an MA in Biology from Duke. Prior to SVC, Nelson completed a two-year term as a visiting assistant professor of Applied Mathematics at Cornell College in Mount Vernon, IA, and a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Postdoctoral Fellow at Canisius College.
