Women Helping Battered Women is pleased to announce that Tara Perkins has joined the staff in the role of Development Specialist. She brings extensive development, event management/execution, public/media relations, copywriting/editing and marketing experience. Tara comes to WHBW from PostScript, Inc. where she was the Director of Public Relations. Tara has volunteered for First Night Burlington, Magic Hat Mardi Gras, Vermont City Marathon, Chew-Chew Festival and Kids’ Day. Tara is a licensed EMT and graduated from SUNY Purchase College with a degree in Political Science.

Founded in 1974 and serving Chittenden County, WHBW is the largest service provider for survivors of domestic violence in Vermont. We provide comprehensive services including: a 24-hour hotline, emergency shelter, children’s services, community education, legal advocacy, economic justice services and transitional housing. We believe that all people have the right to live free of abuse - sexual, physical, emotional or financial.
